SPS New England Wins Prestigious Award for $96M Haverhill Bridge Replacement Design-Build

SPS New England faced a complex challenge replacing two deteriorating 80-year-old bridges over the Merrimack River on I-495, while maintaining traffic, protecting endangered fish habitat, and working through winter constraints and COVID. The project used HCSS tools including HeavyBid, HeavyJob, HCSS Safety, and HCSS Dispatcher to plan, bid, track, and support the work.

HCSS helped SPS New England improve budget accuracy and daily project tracking by linking estimate-based budgets from HeavyBid to field reporting in HeavyJob, giving crews real-time cost, production, and quantity data. With HCSS project controls and a CPM schedule, the team managed spending and projections more effectively and delivered the $96 million bridge replacement on time and on budget, earning major industry awards.
