E&B Paving, an Indiana-based heavy-civil contractor, needed to standardize and scale its estimating, job costing, and fleet-management workflows as the company grew through acquisitions. With legacy spreadsheets and uneven software adoption across multiple offices, Construction Technology Manager Mark Jones was tasked with getting estimators, superintendents, and foremen to consistently maximize value from HCSS products.
E&B joined the HCSS Champions program and built internal product champions at each location, creating a shared codebook, automations, short training videos, and tailored support for HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Equipment360, and Telematics. The direct, elevated support plus tighter integration and training drove faster bidding and better field-to-office data flow, improved equipment tracking and rental control, and boosted productivity and profitability—helping E&B win a $143 million interstate job as the low bidder by just 0.5%.
