Northeast Utilities Implements New HD Video Conferencing Solution

Northeast Utilities worked with HB Communications to improve its video collaboration capabilities and implement a high-definition conferencing environment across the organization. The challenge was to create a consistent, easy-to-use system that would let employees connect to video meetings quickly and reliably, while supporting enterprise-wide scheduling and control.

HB Communications designed and installed 25 integrated HD video conference rooms over three years, using Tandberg, Crestron, and Codian technology. The solution included dual or single 65-inch LCD displays, integrated table microphones, a “two button” dialing experience, a 40-port HD bridge, VCS control and Expressway for firewall traversal, and TMS scheduling. HB Communications also provided a dedicated technician to schedule, maintain, and support the system, giving Northeast Utilities a fully managed HD video conferencing infrastructure.
