Asset Management Solution Offering District-Wide Visibility

Channelview Independent School District, which used bond funding to build new schools and outfit them with modern classroom technology, struggled with a slow, manual asset-management process that was labor-intensive, error-prone, and not scalable. Generating and distributing accurate inventory reports required exporting and manipulating spreadsheets, leaving the district in need of a more efficient, district-wide solution.

Channelview implemented Hayes Software Systems’ TIPWeb-IT to barcode and track assets with handheld scanners, maintain a centralized catalog, and provide role-based access and built-in reporting (.pdf/.csv). The system greatly reduced time spent on inventory and reporting, eliminated data entry errors, gave principals transparent access to their inventories, and scaled to support future 1:1 and BYOD initiatives.
