Bike Retailer Rides its New E-commerce and Search Platform to Holiday Sales Success

Ben’s Cycle is a fourth-generation, family-owned bicycle retailer in Milwaukee (founded 1928) that expanded into multi-channel retail and built a nationwide online business carrying more than 10,000 products. Rapid growth exposed limits in its legacy e-commerce and search capabilities, so the company needed a new POS-capable e-commerce platform and a stronger site search to help diverse shoppers find products quickly before the critical holiday sales period.

Ben’s Cycle launched a new e-commerce platform together with Hawk Search—chosen for faceted navigation, analytics, smart autocomplete, recommendations and mobile search—just weeks before Black Friday. The combined implementation went live in November and delivered a significant increase in online holiday sales, improving customer navigation and merchandising insights across channels.
