Vend From Monolith to Microservices, with Consul and Amazon ECS

Vend, working with HashiCorp, needed to move away from a PHP-based monolith and support a more scalable, flexible application architecture. As the company grew, its developers needed a better way to manage service routing and discovery while enabling faster delivery of new capabilities.

Using HashiCorp Consul alongside Amazon ECS, Elastic Load Balancers, and OpenResty, Vend built a service routing and discovery system for its new microservices environment. The result was a faster way to roll out services and run A/B tests on them, improving Vend’s ability to iterate and operate its platform at scale.
