Société Générale, one of Europe’s largest banks, needed a secure, scalable way to support its digital transformation and container-based applications across a large global IT environment. To address challenges like service discovery, secrets management, configuration, certificates, and multi-tenant isolation, the bank worked with **HashiCorp** and incorporated products such as **Vault** and **Consul** into its in-house PaaS.

With **HashiCorp**, Société Générale built a platform where containers automatically register in Consul, retrieve configuration and secrets from Consul and Vault, and get dynamic certificates and load balancing through Fabio. The solution improved developer experience, standardized operations, strengthened security by design, and increased infrastructure efficiency by supporting automated, repeatable deployments across data centers; the platform now supports about 500 projects and roughly 120 Jenkins masters.
