Jet.com worked with HashiCorp to support hundreds of developers with a very small DevOps team. Running more than 40 Nomad agents and 300+ jobs across hundreds of microservices, the company needed a self-service way for developers to deploy and route traffic even though its NGINX-based HTTP load balancing relied on static configs.

HashiCorp’s Nomad and Consul helped Jet.com automate service discovery and proxy configuration using Consul-Template with NGINX, reducing the risk of brittle configs and enabling multi-region support. The result was a scalable self-service model for hundreds of developers, backed by a lean team of fewer than 20 DevOps staff, while managing hundreds of microservices in production.
