Case Study: Deutsche Bank accelerates Google Cloud onboarding with HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise

A HashiCorp Case Study

Preview of the Deutsche Bank Case Study

How Deutsche Bank Onboarded to Google Cloud w/ Terraform

Deutsche Bank set out to onboard application teams to Google Cloud quickly during the height of the pandemic, starting from almost zero cloud and Terraform experience. As the bank’s cloud team formed, it needed a safe, governed way to open access to GCP while meeting strict banking requirements for automation, identity, security, and control.

HashiCorp’s Terraform Enterprise and Terraform Cloud helped Deutsche Bank create a standardized landing zone approach with workspaces, a private module registry, VCS-driven automation, Sentinel policy as code, and federated module/policy authoring. The result was rapid scale: the bank created its first production GCP infrastructure landing zone within six months, grew to 200+ landing zones and 200 app teams in GCP, and has exceeded 250,000 Terraform runs with 350 Sentinel policies enforcing guardrails.
