A HashiCorp Case Study
Autodesk, a large enterprise running more than 100 customer-facing cloud applications, needed a way to reduce app and infrastructure sprawl, eliminate “snowflake” deployments, and manage access and compliance consistently across many teams and environments. The company worked with HashiCorp to support this effort using tools such as Vault and Terraform, alongside LDAP and AWS IAM.
HashiCorp helped Autodesk standardize its cloud operations around repeatable “service stacks,” separating CI from CD and centralizing access mediation through Vault integrated with Active Directory. This enabled temporary credentials, role-based access, and consistent deployment patterns across dev, staging, and prod while keeping customer-facing apps isolated and auditable. The result was a more scalable, compliant, and repeatable operating model that Autodesk said delivered roughly 80% of the security and audit needs through standardization, while also reducing reliance on manual, app-specific knowledge.
