Case Study: Pandora accelerates app delivery with HashiCorp

A HashiCorp Case Study

Preview of the Pandora Case Study

Global leader in streaming music discovery strikes the right chord using HashiCorp to accelerate application delivery from days to minutes

Pandora, the music and podcast discovery platform, needed a better way to manage rapid growth across thousands of services and a mix of ad hoc deployment workflows. Manual DNS updates, load balancer changes, and fragmented team processes slowed delivery, created visibility gaps, and made it difficult to standardize application deployment and networking at scale. HashiCorp helped Pandora address these challenges with Consul, Nomad, and Vault.

Using HashiCorp Consul for service discovery and networking, Nomad for orchestration, and Vault for secrets management, Pandora unified its deployment workflow and automated much of its infrastructure operations. The result was automated service discovery for more than 50,000 service instances and a drop in application rollout time from two or three days to just 15 minutes, while also improving developer self-service, consistency, and resiliency.
