Case Study: FIS modernizes hybrid cloud deployments with HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise

A HashiCorp Case Study

Preview of the FIS Case Study

Building a Cloud Platform Using Terraform Enterprise, Ansible Tower, and Service Now at FIS

FIS partnered with HashiCorp to modernize its hybrid cloud provisioning and remove manual ITIL-heavy processes from infrastructure requests. The team needed a self-service infrastructure-as-code solution for both everyday project managers and advanced users, with a way to handle change control, CMDB management, IPAM, and compliance consistently across environments.

Using HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise with Ansible Tower and ServiceNow, FIS built a cloud platform that lets users request, import, and upgrade virtual machines through a ServiceNow portal while Terraform applies policy as code and updates the CMDB in real time. The solution standardized VM builds, imported legacy VMware instances into Terraform code, and cut provisioning time from as long as 11 weeks to about 15 minutes; HashiCorp also helped FIS enforce consistent standards and automate post-deployment tasks safely.
