A HashiCorp Case Study
Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a development bank serving the Asia Pacific region, with a strong need for resiliency as it modernized its IT operations and moved to the cloud. In 2018, ADB planned a digital transformation centered on cloud adoption for elasticity and disaster resilience, but the project had to proceed during COVID-19 with a fully remote team, while still meeting strict security and architectural requirements.
HashiCorp helped ADB build its cloud foundation with Terraform Enterprise, Packer, Vault, and Sentinel. ADB used Terraform and modules to manage infrastructure as code across Azure and VMware, automated hardened image creation with Packer, and enforced policy and access controls so changes were made in code rather than by hand. The team completed the platform in 45 days, enabling cloud workloads and private endpoint routing at scale while maintaining security, resiliency, and repeatable operations.
