DataStax needed a better way to support a complex, service-oriented application with many different environments, including integration testing, acceptance testing, demo sandboxes, staging, and production. To solve this, the team worked with HashiCorp and used Terraform alongside Jenkins and infrastructure-as-code practices to build a flexible self-managed cloud environment.

With HashiCorp Terraform, DataStax created a multi-purpose cloud solution that could deliver required environments in about a minute and automatically tear them down when no longer needed. The result was a more efficient infrastructure workflow and significantly lower cloud costs, enough to surprise their CFO with much smaller cloud infrastructure bills.
