ABN AMRO Is Implementing DevSecOps in a Multi-Cloud Environment

ABN AMRO Bank N.V., one of Europe’s largest banks, needed to modernize from a waterfall model to CI/CD and DevSecOps across a multi-cloud, containerized environment while improving security and compliance. To support this transformation, the bank worked with HashiCorp and used Terraform and Vault as key parts of its infrastructure-as-code and secrets-management strategy.

HashiCorp helped ABN AMRO standardize and automate cloud provisioning and secrets handling across Azure, AWS, and private cloud environments, while integrating policy checks and security controls into its pipelines. The result was a more scalable and secure platform with automated onboarding, reduced manual work, and a more than 50% reduction in critical security issues, alongside better alignment between DevOps and SecOps teams.
