How Kiva.org Tracks Time to Inform Budget and Staff Decisions

Kiva, the fast-growing microlender, needed a better way to track how its small program team was spending time so it could make smarter budget, staffing, and process decisions. Kiva used Harvest’s time tracking widget and platform in its Microloan Review & Translation Program to monitor project-level effort and improve visibility into team workloads.

With Harvest, Kiva created a central place to review weekly priorities and share project updates, helping staff understand efficiency and communicate more effectively. The results were strong enough that Kiva planned to expand Harvest to the Kiva Fellows Program, supporting over 100 fellows each year and keeping their work aligned with Kiva’s goals across 40+ countries.
