SoulCycle Sets New Personal Record with Harness Continuous Delivery

SoulCycle, led by Mark Sost, Senior Director of Engineering, migrated from a legacy PHP app to a cloud-native microservices architecture and faced growing CI/CD pain: around 25 daily microservices, hour-long developer deployments and 3–6 hour QA verifications, manual verification, and a DevOps bottleneck. To solve this they turned to Harness’ Continuous Delivery-as-a-Service platform to automate and streamline their deployment pipeline.

Harness automated deployments across 5 Kubernetes clusters and 50+ pods, provided configuration-as-code and reusable pipeline templates, supported blue/green and canary strategies, integrated with Datadog, and added ML-driven auto-verification and auto-rollback so developers could self-serve. The result: ~80% faster deployments (one developer now deploys in 10–15 minutes vs. 60 minutes), QA verification time cut ~80% (three QA now take 1 hour vs. 3–6 hours each), and avoidance of 3 FTEs (~$100K) in ongoing platform management thanks to Harness.
