Skillsoft Moves to Harness CD to Reduce Frustrations and Workloads While Increasing Velocity

Skillsoft, a leading learning platform, needed a better way to manage deployments as its software grew to more than 100 microservices. Its engineering teams each used different delivery processes, creating complexity, manual handoffs, weekend deployments, and delays that made standardization, compliance, and faster release cycles difficult. Skillsoft turned to Harness Continuous Delivery and GitOps to support self-service deployments and improve deployment consistency.

With Harness, Skillsoft standardized its CD process using YAML and Helm templates, enabling 17 teams and 200 developers to run deployments themselves with far less operations support. Harness helped cut deployment time from more than 3 hours to under 45 minutes for 100+ microservices, reduce operational workload, and eliminate weekend deployments and associated downtime.
