Nutanix Democratizes Continuous Delivery With Harness

Nutanix, a global leader in cloud software and hyperconverged infrastructure, needed to migrate its Epoch web services to Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform but faced slow, manual and inconsistent CI/CD processes. Deployments were done by scripts and kubectl (about 15 minutes per cluster), lacked auditing, blue/green/canary capability, and often required four people and hours to push across environments — so Nutanix adopted Harness to modernize and standardize its deployment pipeline.

Harness implemented its Continuous Delivery-as-a-Service platform with out-of-the-box integrations for GCP, Kubernetes, Jenkins and Terraform, pipeline templates, an integrated secrets store, audit logs and automated canary deployments driven by Epoch metrics and machine learning. The result: democratized self-service deployments, reduced time-to-production from weeks to days, a 93% drop in per-cluster deployment time (15 minutes to 60 seconds), elimination of multi-person, multi-hour rollouts, and an avoided $267,000 and six months of engineering effort — boosting developer productivity across Nutanix.
