Case Study: Speedway Motors accelerates deployments and cuts hotfixes with Harness Feature Management & Experimentation

A Harness Case Study

Preview of the Speedway Motors Case Study

How Speedway Motors shifted their releases into high gear Speedway accelerated rollouts, optimized customer experiences, and eliminated the need for hotfixes

Speedway Motors, a leader in automotive parts serving millions of monthly e-commerce visitors, needed a faster and safer way to ship software. Their release process was slow and risky, with deployments only every two weeks, heavy handoffs between teams, and frequent late-night hotfixes or rollbacks. Harness’ Split feature management and experimentation product helped address these challenges by supporting controlled releases and continuous delivery.

With Harness, Speedway Motors adopted trunk-based development and feature flags to roll out changes gradually, test internally, and use kill switches to reduce risk. This eliminated emergency hotfixes, increased release speed from about one deployment every two weeks to multiple deployments per day, and improved business outcomes such as conversion rates and profitability through experimentation. Harness also helped Speedway Motors build a culture of data-driven experimentation across teams.
