Go BankingRates Onboards Kubernetes Apps in 3 Hours

ConsumerTrack, a brand that connects consumers with products and services, was migrating to a microservices architecture on AWS and Kubernetes. Its continuous integration process was mature, but its continuous delivery and deployment pipelines were still manual and heavily scripted by the DevOps team. The company needed to onboard about 24 Kubernetes services over 12 months, and each new service took around 2 weeks of effort from 2 DevOps engineers.

Using Harness Continuous Delivery and GitOps, ConsumerTrack moved to self-service, template-based Kubernetes deployments and automated verification. Harness cut Dev to QA deployment time from 2 hours to 5 minutes and reduced new Kubernetes app onboarding from 2 weeks to 3 hours per service. Overall, ConsumerTrack reduced deployment time by 92%, cut onboarding effort dramatically, and achieved first-year savings of approximately $580,000.
