Citi, the global banking and financial services company, needed a way to implement continuous delivery at enterprise scale while maintaining strict risk, controls, and audit requirements across more than 20,000 engineers. Its existing deployment approach was manual, not cloud-native, difficult to audit, and not well suited to modern microservice architectures. Citi turned to Harness Continuous Delivery, along with GitOps capabilities, to support its next-generation software delivery platform.

With Harness, Citi automated its end-to-end CI/CD process, built standardized yet flexible pipelines, and added policy controls, audit logging, testing, canary/blue-green deployments, and automated rollback capabilities. The results were significant: release times dropped from days to under 7 minutes, production deployments became possible several times a day for many users, and Citi reduced toil while improving speed, security, and control.
