Advanced onboards development teams in hours with Harness Continuous Delivery

Advanced, the UK’s third-largest provider of business software and services (£220m revenue, 16,000 customers, 2,000 employees), faced a fragmented CI/CD landscape across ~100 products and ~700 engineers. Pipelines built with Jenkins, Puppet and other tooling took months to create, required thousands of lines of Puppet, often needed manual intervention, and could take up to 30 hours to deploy, slowing the company’s move to AWS and a standardized CI/CD process. To address this, Advanced engaged Harness and adopted Harness Continuous Delivery.

Harness delivered a self-service, templated Continuous Delivery platform with out-of-the-box canary deployments, AppDynamics/ELK integrations, ML-driven auto-verification and auto-rollback, and deployment automation across six data centers. The results: 10 application teams (~100 services) onboarded in under two months (most on Day One); Education App deployments fell from 3 hours to 1 minute and Form App from 30 hours to under 30 minutes; weekly Jenkins upgrades now take 15–20 minutes. Advanced reports a 10x ROI within months, an 88% reduction in average deploy time (2 days to 2 hours), a 90% cut in onboarding time (2 days to 90 minutes), and a conservative 50–60% savings in DevOps and engineering time using Harness.
