Willmott Dixon captures 150 years of Bristol Beacon history with Harleys

The construction company Willmott Dixon faced the challenge of creating a premium memento for its refurbishment of the historic Bristol Beacon concert hall. They wanted to contextualize their role in the venue's history and showcase the care taken during the complex project. To meet this challenge, they partnered with creative agency Harleys for concept development and graphic design to produce a coffee table book.

Harleys created a photograph-led book structured around a graphical timeline inspired by sheet music, specifically "The Lark Ascending," which has a special connection to Bristol. The design drew inspiration from the building's architecture, such as its copper cladding, for elements like the cover. The resulting books were very popular with the Willmott Dixon team, serving as a great conversation-starter that successfully commemorated the refurbishment and celebrated the venue's long history.
