Case Study: TPCA prevents production stoppage with HARDWARIO’s BLOX IoT Kit

A HARDWARIO Case Study

Preview of the TPCA Case Study

We help the TPCA automobile plant to prevent production outages

TPCA, a joint venture of Toyota and PSA manufacturing automobiles, needed a low-cost, non-invasive IoT solution to predict production line stoppages caused by engine overheating. They partnered with vendor HARDWARIO to implement a system that would provide early warnings of temperature increases without disrupting their intensive manufacturing operations.

HARDWARIO provided a solution built around their BLOX IoT KIT, which included wireless temperature sensors and a Raspberry Pi gateway. The system sends data at short intervals to the plant's IT system, enabling predictive maintenance. Developed in just two weeks, the fully functional system cost less than €500 and successfully allows TPCA to prevent unplanned stoppages by alerting technicians to inspect engines before they fail.
