SURUN offers IoT metering services with IoT gateway CHESTER

Surun Services, a facility management company in Australia, sought to expand its service offerings by providing smart energy metering to its municipal and commercial clients. To achieve this, they partnered with HARDWARIO to find a way to connect and extract data from their existing SATEC EM133 industrial power meters.

HARDWARIO provided a solution using their CHESTER IoT gateway, which was customized with an RS-485 interface and firmware for Modbus protocol to connect to the meters. The gateway used LoRaWAN technology to transmit critical data on voltage, current, frequency, and consumption to the cloud for visualization in Microsoft Power BI. This allowed Surun to successfully launch a new smart metering service, enabling their customers to monitor consumption and optimize usage, and it established a foundation for a long-term partnership with HARDWARIO.

Surun Services
