The solution implemented by HAProxy was a large-scale service mesh with an instance of HAProxy Enterprise deployed next to each containerized application. This provided direct communication between services, health checks, SSL encryption, and DNS-based service discovery. The results were significant, with Yammer now running 60,000 HAProxy Enterprise instances that handle 2 million requests per second, leading to improved reliability, scalable performance, and significant development time savings.
