Happiest Minds partnered with a Fortune 200 customer to re-architect their packet monitoring stack into an SDN-based solution. The challenge was to replace a proprietary hardware/software approach with an SDN controller and white‑box switches, develop a Network Packet Broker application on an SDN controller, and validate the design across virtual and physical OpenFlow switches.

Happiest Minds enhanced the OpenDaylight controller (security hardening and new modules), developed an SDN policy configuration app and migrated the legacy SNMP control/management into an SDN application, testing the solution with tools like Mininet, IXIA and IPERF. The outcome is a lower‑cost, centrally managed packet monitoring platform that enabled market entry using white‑box hardware, provided concurrent enterprise access to shared data, and delivered an improved, cloud‑ready user experience.
