Single Board Computer based on 6th Gen Intel SoC for a Rugged Embedded Solution Provider

Happiest Minds, a digital-transformation and product-engineering firm, was engaged by a rugged embedded solution provider to design a Single Board Computer (SBC) based on a 6th Gen Intel SoC. The client required a small-form-factor, rugged, extended-temperature SBC with multiple connectivity and expansion options to meet demanding industrial and embedded use cases.

Happiest Minds delivered a conduction-cooled SBC built around an Intel Core i7 SoC with DDR4 (SODIMM and memory-down options), three independent displays and broad I/O (Ethernet, USB, HDMI, LVDS, RS232, SATA, PCIe/PCI and camera interfaces), plus mSATA/PCIe mini and legacy PCI expansion. Advanced PCB and firmware design shortened the development cycle, eliminated the need for add-on cards, and produced a high-performance, scalable product that accelerated time-to-market and gave the client a competitive edge.
