Happiest Minds partnered with a large US retailer to solve workforce optimization challenges by analyzing store associate movements and time spent across departments using Beacon and Wi‑Fi technologies. The goal was to uncover inefficiencies in scheduling and labor deployment and to improve sales and customer experience through data-driven insights.
Using a big‑data pipeline built on Hadoop, Java/MapReduce and Hive, Happiest Minds fused schedule, POS, traffic, device and employee data, performed cleansing and transformation, and ran trend, distribution, correlation and outlier analyses. The solution tracked dwell time and movement patterns, identified under‑ and over‑utilized labor, enabled accurate labor-demand forecasting, and increased revenue per worked hour while improving close rates and customer experience.
