NFVi Engineering compliant to ETSI MANO for a leading platform OEM

Happiest Minds partnered with a leading platform OEM to deliver an ETSI-MANO–compliant "Cloud in a Box" NFV infrastructure integrating virtual FW, LTM, SBC and router VNFs. The challenge was to deploy, automate and validate VNFs on the customer’s NFV infrastructure—proving robustness, performance and full ETSI MANO conformance for deployment, upgrade and CI workflows.

We deployed OpenStack (Compute, Network, Control) and Tacker on compact 3U Intel Xeon nodes, authored Tacker YAML descriptors, used DPDK for datapath acceleration, and adapted OPNFV CI tools (Yardstick, Functest) for automated deployment, upgrade, performance and conformance testing. The outcome is a standalone, ETSI-compliant, carrier-grade Cloud-in-a-Box that demonstrated VNF performance comparable to physical devices (~10M concurrent sessions) and an extensible platform ready for future OpenStack versions and additional VNFs.
