A Happiest Minds Case Study
Happiest Minds was engaged to design an Intel-based micro-server for data centers, with a specific brief to develop Xeon and Atom processor modules. The project challenge included creating BIOS for each module, building a production test jig, and completing bring-up and Design Validation Tests (DVT).
We delivered Atom and Xeon SoC modules for a 2U chassis with four DDR4 SODIMM slots, a PCIe Gen3 active backplane and switch-fabric interface, plus BIOS development, production test jig and full DVT. Using Broadwell‑DE and Avoton platforms, M.2 SSDs, headless design and low-cost 14/16-layer PCBs, the solution enabled a low‑power, elastic, high‑performance product that complies with Open Networking Platform specs—positioning the hardware for NFV workloads and web‑scale data centers.
