Cost Effective and Comprehensive Cloud Migration

Happiest Minds, a digital-transformation and IT services firm, built a cost‑effective cloud migration product to help customers move on‑premises VMs to the cloud on scheduled dates. The challenge was to support live, offline and incremental migrations, offer configurable migration plans for different customer needs, and provide an easy‑to‑use, scalable UI to configure and monitor the entire process.

The solution combined engineered migration workflows (live/offline/incremental), an AWS vCenter connector that exports VMs and uses EC2 CLI/APIs to import them, lightweight cutover and fallback via periodic data capture to minimize downtime, and REST APIs alongside a user-friendly GUI. Implemented with Java, HTML5, Spring and RESTful services, the product boosted market penetration, broadened the customer base with plan‑based offerings, and enabled scalable resource consumption and easy identification of optimal migration plans.
