Happiest Minds was engaged by a leading semiconductor company to build a complete in-vehicle telematics solution addressing Pay-As-You-Drive insurance, fuel pilferage, geofencing and eco-drive use cases. The brief also required end-to-end delivery of telematics hardware, embedded software and an Android app alongside a cloud-based platform.

Happiest Minds took full ownership of the cloud platform, provided hardware design consultation and developed embedded/device software and mobile/web interfaces using Intel Quark-based hardware, Telit modem, Java/MongoDB and C/Lua. The solution delivered features like eco-driving, real-time geofencing, fuel monitoring, vehicle tracking, remote diagnostics and insurance telematics, while optimized algorithms improved battery and memory performance and a scalable big-data architecture produced a differentiated, high-quality product.
