Traffic Cameras Pay Public Safety Dividens For Pennsylvania Police Department

The Upper Chichester Township Police Department faced significant traffic flow challenges during peak commute times in their Pennsylvania township. To better identify accidents and alleviate congestion, they worked with Hanwha Techwin America and systems integrator NextGen Security to implement a video surveillance solution using Hanwha network cameras.

The solution involved installing 20 Hanwha 5 megapixel bullet cameras at key intersections. The system has greatly improved public safety, directly leading to the identification and arrest of robbery suspects in two separate incidents. The success of the Hanwha Techwin solution has exceeded expectations, with plans to expand the camera system to monitor five additional intersections.
