The Star of Hope Mission Adopts Hanwha Techwin Cameras and Wisenet WAVE to Secure Facilities for Unhoused Men, Women and Children

Star of Hope Mission, a Houston nonprofit serving unhoused men, women, and children, needed a security system for its new Women and Family Development Center that could cover a multi-building campus, interior spaces, and the surrounding perimeter. With the help of Hanwha Techwin America and installer Design Security Controls, the organization sought a cost-effective surveillance solution that would support a safe environment for residents and staff.

Hanwha Techwin America supplied a system built around Wisenet S, X, and P series cameras, including 12 MP perimeter cameras, 4 MP courtyard cameras, 2 MP indoor cameras, and 360° fisheye cameras for classrooms, along with the Wisenet WAVE VMS. The result was a 262-camera deployment with a 24/7 Security Command Room, easy active monitoring and forensic review, 30-day video retention supported by H.265 and WiseStream II compression, and footage that helped law enforcement investigate a theft. Star of Hope Mission is now extending the Hanwha Techwin America solution to its Men’s Development Center with 52 more cameras, another command room, and WAVE Sync for cross-site monitoring.
