Preview of the Anaheim Union High School District Case Study

Hanwha Video Surveillance Cameras Safeguard Anaheim’s Expansive Public-School District

Anaheim Union High School District, one of California’s largest school districts, needed a stronger security system to monitor and document incidents across its 20 facilities and protect nearly 29,000 students. Working with Hanwha Techwin America, the district sought an IP video surveillance solution that could meet strict technical requirements and support campus safety concerns, including vandalism, threats, and incidents occurring after several school shootings elsewhere in the U.S.

Hanwha Techwin America and integrator HCI deployed 1,250 Wisenet Q series 4MP Network IR Vandal Resistant Cameras across the district, including entrances, exits, exterior restroom doors, staff areas, and meeting spaces. The cameras’ high resolution, hallway view, IR capability, and vandal-resistant design improved coverage and simplified maintenance, while administrators gained faster access to footage when incidents were reported and began identifying remaining blind spots for possible expansion.
