The University of North Georgia, created by the 2013 consolidation of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College, needed to merge two public websites and replace two CMS platforms (Ektron and SharePoint). The primary challenge was selecting a new system that 100+ content editors could use easily and that would support a fast launch of a unified site by the consolidation date.

They chose Hannon Hill’s Cascade CMS for its simpler templating, Velocity support, and responsive vendor support. A small team met the launch deadline, delivering a starter site with a new homepage, news, mobile and print versions, and campus failover; since then most content has been published, routine tasks automated via web services, and ongoing vendor collaboration has improved performance and features.
