A Hannon Hill Case Study
The University of Miami, a private research university with 12 schools and more than 180 degree programs, outgrew its open-source CMS (Mambo). As site content and feature needs increased, the old system’s simplistic workflow forced manual email approvals, caused frequent publishing errors, lacked custom data handling, and rendered pages in real time—resulting in slow page loads and delayed updates.
UM replaced Mambo with Hannon Hill’s Cascade CMS, gaining a more secure, stable platform with an easier UI, pre-baked HTML publishing for faster performance, and a robust approval workflow. Cascade now powers the School of Business site (including auto-generated RSS feeds and a Spanish version), supports third-party integrations for multimedia, events and payments, and has streamlined publishing so content goes live faster and with fewer errors.
