Canada Company Switches Their Web Content Management System from Joomla to Cascade Server

Canada Company, a Canadian charity that helps military families and supports veterans’ transition to civilian careers, needed a more secure, flexible web platform for its public site and Military Employment Transition (MET) program. Their Joomla setup exposed them to known plugin exploits, prevented in‑CMS PHP edits, made testing and content entry cumbersome (adding an Employer Partner required multiple files and WAR deployments), and produced very slow page loads during traffic spikes.

They migrated to Cascade Server in two months using two interns, adopting a responsive Bootstrap design, Data Definitions for structured content, and Velocity/JSP for integrations. The result was stronger security meeting government requirements, dramatically faster page loads, far quicker Employer Partner publishing, easier testing and content reuse, and greater developer flexibility to edit code and build pages rapidly.
