Stony Brook University used Handshake to host five virtual industry-related job and internship fairs in fall 2020 and needed a way to drive student attendance and employer engagement in a fully virtual format. The team focused on building interest in registration and making it easy for students to find and join the fairs.
Using Handshake’s virtual fair tools and marketing assets, Stony Brook University ran countdown campaigns, Instagram walkthroughs, live sessions, employer tip videos, and personalized reminder emails. The effort helped the university facilitate over 5,000 student-employer connections, with over 1,600 students attending across the five fairs and more than 550 clicks on the fair link from email alone.
