Southern University Embeds Handshake into the Institutional Experience

Southern University and A&M College is working to make Handshake part of the student experience across campus. The Career Services Center wanted a better way to help students and alumni develop career plans and connect with internships and post-graduate employment, while also introducing career preparation earlier in the college journey.

With Handshake, Southern University and A&M College has begun embedding the platform into freshman orientation, First Year Experience, Second Year Experience, and Honors College coursework. The Career Services Center has already worked with the Honors College to require all of its students to create Handshake accounts, and it is planning additional college events, branding, and curriculum integration to increase account activation and student use.
