Epic Boosts Brand Awareness to Compete for Diverse Tech Talent Nationwide

Epic, a software company in Madison, Wisconsin, needed a more flexible way to expand brand awareness and compete for diverse tech talent nationwide. Its career fair-heavy approach was not reaching enough candidates, and the company wanted to build stronger relationships with students while increasing applications from underrepresented groups. Epic worked with Handshake to support its early talent recruiting efforts.

With Handshake Premium, Epic expanded its recruiting network to more than 680 schools, used personalized messaging and virtual info sessions, and shifted toward a digital-first strategy. Handshake helped Epic achieve a 50% increase in total applications, a 42% increase in applicants from underrepresented groups, and a 3.4x increase in applications compared with industry peers. Epic also said 25% of its early talent hires now come from Handshake.
