A Handshake Case Study
Carnegie Mellon University, a top-tier global research university with almost 7,000 undergraduates, wanted a more modern career services system and a vendor that could provide strong customer support. Its Career and Professional Development Center had issues with its previous system and felt the vendor was not responsive when problems came up.
Carnegie Mellon University moved to Handshake over the summer of 2016, with a dedicated implementation team and a phased rollout that launched first to employers and then to students. Handshake supported the transition throughout the process, and CMU said the rollout went as well as it could have imagined; the university also reported better responsiveness from Handshake and more employers, including PR firms and nonprofits, reaching out through the network.
