University of North Texas System Selects Hammerspace & Pure Storage

The University of North Texas System faced a challenge when its existing Isilon NAS storage could no longer handle its ever-growing data and file storage needs. They required a modernization of their file storage environment that could be performed without any downtime and with limited resources, prompting them to choose a solution involving Hammerspace and Pure Storage FlashBlade.

Hammerspace provided its Global Data Environment software as a data interface layer to solve this challenge. This enabled a no-downtime, fast data-in-place assimilation, making the migration to the new Pure Storage technology simple and seamless. For the future, the UNT System also plans to leverage Hammerspace to provide unified data access across its multiple data centers and cloud providers.
