AWS Cloud-Based Studio Psyop Gains Global Collaboration and Efficiency With Hammerspace’s Global Data Environment

Psyop is a cloud-based studio that creates animation, live action, gaming trailers, and original content for global brands. As its team and projects spread across multiple locations and AWS regions, it struggled with copy sprawl, keeping files in sync, and enabling real-time collaboration for artists in different countries. Psyop turned to Hammerspace for a global data environment and single namespace for its creative content.

With Hammerspace, Psyop centralized access to application data, home directories, user profiles, and project files across AWS, reducing the need to copy terabytes of data between regions and making remote collaboration much easier. The studio said Hammerspace helped lower storage and operational costs, eliminated many custom file-management scripts, and made it faster to spin up new regions and onboard remote talent. Psyop also reported it could save time and money in its ENG/IO department while keeping only the project data needed in each location.
