Preview of the Baxter Case Study

Baxter funds 3 projects in 3 months with Halo

Baxter, a global Fortune 200 healthcare company, faced the challenge of making home dialysis less burdensome for patients, who receive 900 pounds of solution monthly. Their goal was to find a way for patients to create this solution from their own tap water, which required removing minerals and chlorine and detecting any toxic chlorine. They partnered with the vendor Halo to source new technologies for this problem.

Halo helped reframe Baxter's problem statements into three specific RFPs and promoted them to its global network of scientists. The vendor also hosted webinars that allowed for direct collaboration between Baxter and researchers. This process enabled Baxter to receive 83 high-quality proposals in just three months, a significant increase in volume and speed compared to their previous methods. Ultimately, Baxter selected three projects for funding, greatly expanding its reach into new universities and countries with Halo's help.
