A HALO Recognition Case Study
North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS), a nonprofit healthcare network serving North Mississippi and Northwest Alabama, needed a better way to manage a growing set of employee recognition and engagement programs across its hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics. Although it already had strong “People First” values and multiple initiatives in place, the programs were scattered and increasingly difficult to coordinate. HALO Recognition helped NMHS streamline these efforts using a consolidated recognition platform.
HALO Recognition implemented a unified employee recognition solution that tied awards and performance goals to NMHS’s Critical Success Factors, using points-based recognition, reporting, and an online rewards gallery. The platform made recognition more visible and easier to manage, while empowering programs like Ideas for Excellence and Stars Online. Results included doubled employee suggestions to 12,000 per year, about 40% implemented, retention above 90% since 2009, and strong outcomes such as the 96th percentile for employee engagement, 91st percentile for patient satisfaction, and 95th percentile for quality of care.
