Hal9 helps Limber Health provide remote therapeutic care

Limber Health, a Washington, DC–based company that supports physicians and physical therapists in delivering hybrid in-clinic and at-home MSK care, faced barriers to access, cost, and patient adherence and needed clinical‑grade digital tools that run on regular mobile devices while protecting user privacy. To address this, Limber partnered with Hal9 to develop an AI-powered motion-tracking solution using Hal9’s runtime with image recognition and pose-estimation models, enabling assessment and feedback for exercises and functional tests without specialized equipment.

Hal9 implemented a browser and mobile runtime that processes video locally (sending only performance data), tracks 3D motion to count repetitions and validate positions, and integrates Limber’s library of tests and exercises; teams from both companies documented and validated hundreds of movements. As a result, Limber has submitted one functional test developed with Hal9 for FDA approval, plans new AI features on iOS and Android, and reports improved engagement and measurable patient-reported outcomes that increase the likelihood patients complete prescribed rehabilitation.
