How NOMOBO is using Remote Production and Haivision Hub to Bring Live Events into the Future

NOMOBO, a Netherlands-based live events production company, needed to pivot from in-person to virtual events in 2020 while facing travel restrictions and limited on-location staff. To meet the challenge of delivering reliable, low-latency broadcast-quality streams, NOMOBO turned to Haivision, using Haivision Makito encoders/decoders and Haivision Hub to manage remote production workflows in the cloud.

Using Haivision Hub, Makito edge devices, SRT and Azure backbone routing, NOMOBO centralized production in Amsterdam while ingesting remote contributor feeds worldwide, monitoring streams at very low latency. The Haivision solution enabled up to 36 simultaneous sources, achieved a 2.6 second round-trip feed from San Francisco to Amsterdam and back, delivered noticeably higher quality than WebRTC, reduced on-site engineering needs and costs, and produced consistently broadcast-quality virtual events.
